Shielded liquid tight flexible metallic conduits from the SHIELD-FLEX® series by Electri-Flex are perfectly suited for critical installations, wherein sensitive cable lines need protection from external electrical noise. Options include a galvanized steel or bronze core with a tinned copper braiding with a heavy duty PVC or Polyurethane jacket.

Showcased below is a graphical comparison of shielded conduits with a standard non-shielded industrial version LA.
The test frequencies used are 1 MHz to 10 MHz Electric field, 100 MHz to 1 GHz Planewave field and 2 GHz to 6 GHz Microwave field and attenuation is measured for each type. Tests performed were as per MIL-STD-285 on a conduit of size of 1”, fitted with standard liquid tight connectors. The graph can show the general effectiveness of using a shielded flexible conduit in sensitive electronic systems. A shielded conduit not only protects from external EMI/RFI disturbances but also encloses within itself any internally generated emissions. These tests were performed under controlled laboratory conditions and results may vary to a certain extent in the field.
